Big Data and Jaspersoft
Native reporting for Big Data with iReport, JasperReports, and JasperReports Server
Big Data systems are generally recognized as those providing massive horizontal scale out capabilities. Jaspersoft’s architecture is data source agnostic, enabling native reporting for Hadoop and popular NoSQL systems in a variety of ways.
First steps
Begin by downloading the Big Data connector that you're interested in. They're available in the section Release. Exception: Hadoop Hive is even easier now. The connector is built right in to iReport 4.5 and JasperReports Server 4.5. There's nothing extra to install; go straight to step 2.
Then look at the documentation on the Wiki. (Some connectors still have a static PDF for documentation, but these are being migrated to the wiki.)
The binaries are all available. Source for many connectors is already posted. (It's always available on request. But it's changing quick enough that it's tough to keep all of them current.) Some connectors are still in a proof of concept stage and aren't yet widely practical. Others should be able to plug right in and work with your existing systems. Refer to the documentation in each connector for more details.
As you have questions or comments, please post them to the JasperServer forum.
