I would like to create a style which in English would read:

If the value of the field I am in is less than zero, change the color to RED

Then when I apply that style to 10 number fields, I do not have to create a conditional style for each field.

If I had 3 fields, named "MEXICO_PROFIT", "USA_PROFIT", "CANADA_PROFIT", I currently see needing 3 conditional styles:

MEXICO_PROFIT_STYLE

$F{MEXICO_PROFIT} < 0

foreground RED

USA_PROFIT_STYLE

$F{USA_PROFIT} < 0

foreground RED

CANADA_PROFIT_STYLE

$F{CANADA_PROFIT} < 0

foreground RED

What I want is something like this, which I could apply to any numeric field:

NEGATIVE_RED_STYLE

$F{*} < 0

In this case $F{*} means the current field.

In Java you have the "this" object to get yourself, is there no way inside a conditional style expression to get the field where the style is being applied to?

Elliot, I've got the same problem using Jasper Server 4.5: I'm not able to connect to a SQLIte database using JDBC because Jasper Server Datasource admin UI expects an Username / Password as required (which I cant' give for an SQLIte database). Could you solve your problem? Knd regards, Matthias.

I know this was awhile ago, but I can't find the answer to this issue, other than to upgrade. I had this problem in 4.0.2, and i just upgraded to 4.5.1, but the issue still exists. Anyone have an answer? Sorry if i missed this is another thread.

Virginia Tech is also seeing this issue. We are seeing some major bugs in the Ad Hoc editor that are causing Ad Hocs to no longer run correctly.

A list of bugs that will be included in the next release, that was supposed to be out by now, would be extremely helpful.

As I say before, updating Adobe Reader didn't fix the issue. This is quite strange...I don't know what to do...

I want to print some unicode character(of Hindi language) as output.For that i set following test element for field "name" in my .jrxml file

I have set pdfFontName as mangal.ttf ,and i am passing the unicode value (for hindi name) from my java code.

Even I save my java code in UTF-8 formate and compile it with the UTF-8 encoding in eclipse IDE.

Still that hindi word didnot not disply.

Plz give me some short example how can i display hindi word providing its unicode dynamicaly into my jasper report.Which setting i want to apply to display the field in hindi?

Finally solved by recompiling the source file. Probably the .jasper file not aligned with jasper runtime.
