  JasperReports Roadmap
JasperReports is a mature open source project, which has constantly evolved and improved over time, in order to satisfy the requirements and needs of its ever growing community of users.
Since its inception back in 2001, the project has grown steadily through releases made every 3 to 8 weeks apart.

Here, we are trying to show our community where the project is heading in terms of architecture and new functionality. We are also letting people know that they can be a part of the project and influence its roadmap by providing feedback and contributing code and documentation. This has always been the case with JasperReports and many of its current features were not planned for initially, but appeared as a result of suggestions and requirements received from its users along the way.

Where is the updated roadmap listed?

We are keeping our roadmap up-to-date by using the project trackers. We encourage you to vote on your high priority feature requests by going to the "Vote on issue" section of the tracker for that feature. By simply managing our project trackers and associating them with specific target releases, we are automatically generating our roadmap page and it can be viewed by anybody interested at this location:

How to contribute to the roadmap?

Because it is fully relying on the public project trackers, simply by logging bugs or feature requests into the system or by voting on existing trackers, you are helping plan our next round of bug fixes or improvements.
Also, if you have fixed a bug or created a new feature for the product, you could upload it as a patch on the project trackers and we'll then work with you to have it integrated into the main version of the product.
